Liebe Leser*innen,

auch in diesem Newsletter geht es im Leitartikel um einen traurigen Jahrestag, nämlich den Gedenktag des Völkermords an den Tutsi. Allerdings gibt es in diesem Zusammenhang auch von positiven Initiativen zu berichten in Ruanda ebenso wie in der Ukraine. In den "Stimmen" geht es darum, dass Frieden mehr ist "als das Schweigen der Waffen". Vom Dialog zwischen Transitional Justice und Klimagerechtigkeit gibt eine Videoaufzeichnung zu entdecken und unter "Tipps & Infos" findet sich dieses Mal einiges zum Thema Dekolonisierung.

Damit wünschen wir einen zuversichtlichen Start ins Frühjahr.

Again, this newsletter's leading article is about a sad commemoration, namely the genocide against the Tutsi. However, in this context, there are also positive initiatives to report on in Rwanda as well as in Ukraine. Our commentary section (German: Stimmen) is about peace being much more than the absence of war. 30 years after the genocide against the Tutsi

April 7 marked the beginning of Kwibuka30, the period commemorating 30 years of genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. On this day, world dignitaries gathered in Rwanda’s capital Kigali to mourn the victims and renew their commitment to prevent mass violence. Many descendants of survivors of the genocide still live with trauma. At the same time, there is a real risk that the conflict around the armed group M23 escalates into a regional war.
