With increasingly complex crises, development programmes face up to more complex requirements and challenges.

Addressing drivers of conflict and fragility becomes key for improving effectiveness and sustainability of interventions. During a joint workshop, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) collaborated with the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) to reflect on the need and parameters of an integrated peacebuilding approach that tackles multiple complex issues together in a collaborative, long-term, and interlinked manner.

The result of this collaboration is this small think piece published by SIPRI in early 2025.
