Die NiKE – was bedeutet sie für Frieden und Sicherheit?

Europa ist der Kontinent, der sich am schnellsten erwärmt. Das belegt der kürzlich veröffentlichte Bericht des EU-Klimadienstes Copernicus. Was das für die Sicherheit bedeutet, wurde in der ersten Nationalen Interdisziplinären Klimarisiko-Einschätzung (NiKE) eindrücklich erfasst. Sie wurde zum Auftakt der Münchener Sicherheitskonferenz 2025 vorgestellt. Hier hat eine wichtige, wenn auch ungewöhnliche Allianz aus Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Metis-Institut, adelphi und Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK) zum ersten Mal einen Bericht zusammengestellt, der Klimarisiken aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven erfasst. Denn die NiKE ist nicht nur klimapolitisch relevant, sondern gerade auch für die Entwicklungs-, Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik.
