Prior to this, she worked at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) since 2022, where she advised the BMZ on issues at the intersection of religion, peace, and security. Her work combines religion- and culture-sensitive approaches to peacebuilding with applied conflict transformation practice.
“Amid global crises, we need spaces where people can learn from and with one another, strengthen connections, and jointly develop new approaches to peacebuilding. I am very happy to now be part of FriEnt and to contribute to these encounters at the upcoming FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum,” says Mona Hein.
She studied International Social Work as well as Religious and Cultural Studies and is a trained mediator. She brings extensive experience in conflict transformation in international organizations and NGOs, including work in Indonesia, Lebanon, and Iraq.
FriEnt, the Working Group on Peace and Development, is a network of governmental organisations, church development agencies, civil society networks, and political foundations. Its members regularly second staff to the joint team in order to bring together different perspectives and strengthen cooperation in the field of peacebuilding.
