eEARTH, developed by the International Crisis Group, integrates data monitoring with deep field expertise to anticipate and prevent resource-related conflict. As climate shocks, resource scarcity, and geopolitical tensions converge, traditional early warning systems struggle to capture the full picture.

Conflict today is increasingly shaped by competition over natural resources. Climate change, economic instability, and geopolitical rivalries amplify resource pressures on food, water, and energy systems. These dynamics not only strain cooperation but can also tip fragile societies into violence. Traditional early warning systems often fall short, analysing climate, political, or economic risks in isolation rather than as interconnected crises.

eEARTH responds to this gap with an integrated platform designed to detect early signs of instability linked to resource stress. Based on extensive work on climate security risks in the Horn of Africa, its initial focus lies on the critical interplay among climate, food and water security.
