On International Women’s Day, Berghof Foundation highlights the relentless efforts of women peacebuilders.

The UN found that peace agreements that include women are 35% more likely to last at least 15 years compared to those without women. Berghof Foundation has asked experts to share why women improve peace outcomes in these short video statements.

Here, you can also watch the recording of Berghof Foundation’s event featuring the stories of women from Nigeria, Syria, and Zimbabwe who are leading peacebuilding efforts in their communities. Moreover, this policy brief examines the critical roles of women as insider mediators in peaceful protest movements (PPMs) across Iraq, Thailand, and Venezuela.
