Bonner Friedenstage 2021

Am 31. August 2021 beginnen die Bonner Friedenstage. Unter dem Motto „Recovering better for a sustainable and equitable world“ finden den ganzen September über diverse Veranstaltungen zu den Themen Friedensförderung und Entwicklung statt.

Vor 20 Jahren erklärte die Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen den 21. September
zum Weltfriedenstag. Die einhergehende Forderung: Für 24 Stunden sollen die Waffen bedingungslos ruhen.

In Anlehnung an den Weltfriedenstag wurde im Rahmen der Bonner Friedenstage ein diverses Veranstaltungsprogramm zusammengestellt. Über den gesamten Monat September sollen vielfältige Formate, darunter Podiumsdiskussionen, Vorträge, Kunstaktionen oder Lesungen dazu dienen, sich m Fragen des Friedens auseinanderzusetzen – online und in Präsenz. Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte thematisieren unter anderem die Klimakrise und den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt, die Rolle von Frauen im Einsatz für den Frieden und den deutsch – russischen Dialog.

From Ambition to Inaction: Climate Talks Struggle to Deliver Implementation

The intersessional climate negotiations (SB64) in Bonn concluded with sobering results. Climate justice was a central theme in many discussions and rounds of negotiations, but issues surrounding climate finance prevented an agreement from being reached. Negotiations on the global adaptation target, for example, must start again from scratch. The nexus of climate, peace and security was largely overlooked in the negotiations, as well as in the action agenda presented by the Turkish COP31 Presidency.
