Positionspapier zur Europawahl 2024

Die kirchlichen Werke Brot für die Welt und Misereor haben ein gemeinsames Positionspapier zur Europawahl 2024 veröffentlicht. Sie fordern die Stärkung der universellen Menschenrechte, globale Gerechtigkeit, Demokratie- und Friedensförderung.

Misereor und Brot für die Welt haben anlässlich der Europawahl im Juni 2024 ein gemeinsames Plädoyer für ein demokratisches, rechtsstaatliches und gerechtes Europa verfasst, dessen Werte nach innen wie außen verbindlich und handlungsleitend sind. Der Aufruf erfolgt anlässlich der drängenden Herausforderungen, die aus den sich verstärkenden globalen Krisen und insbesondere aus dem rapide zunehmenden Klimawandel erwachsen. Um eine gemeinsame und gerechte europäische Antwort zu finden, braucht es einen scharfen Blick nach innen und konsequente Orientierung an Menschenrechten nach außen.

Climate justice was a central theme in many discussions and rounds of negotiations, but issues surrounding climate finance prevented an agreement from being reached.
